>> About the role
We are looking for someone to join Laboratoria 's New Ventures team as Head of Learning. The New Ventures team is tasked with finding innovative and disruptive ways to grow Laboratoria's impact. Currently, this team is focused on designing and building a digital learning platform where women from Latin America can develop new skills, build relationships and start and accelerate their careers in technology.
You will work directly with the co-founders of Laboratoria in the design of this new digital learning platform, recruiting and leading the team in charge of launching its beta version. This new online learning experience includes technical skills development programs (UX design, Data Analysis, etc.) and soft skills development programs that we aspire to be world class.
You will be responsible for everything related to the learning experience on this digital platform, including but not limited to:
- Design, implement, and refine a learning model (instructional design) that fosters appropriation of learning, collaborative learning, and learning by doing.
- Design, together with the leadership team, the student's journey throughout this new learning experience.
- Lead the curriculum development of all educational programs.
- Recruit and manage the team of coaches.
- Ensure high student satisfaction and compliance with our value proposition.
- Monitor the overall experience of students, including their perception and actual learning outcomes, to develop new strategies and drive improvements to the instructional model.
- Accompany the technology team in the development of the technological platform that will support the entire online experience.
- Define what new educational programs we should add to the platform and prioritize them.
>> who are you
- You have worked in educational contexts, whether in traditional education (colleges, universities, technical institutes), non-traditional education (bootcamps, schools with alternative learning methodologies), or ed-techs. You are passionate about innovating in education and you are sure that the future lies at the intersection of technology and education. You have extensive experience in instructional development and are very knowledgeable about how the science of learning is applied to the design of learning experiences.
- You have led teams before and you like doing it. You have the ability to make your team work for a common goal. You have a leadership style that strikes a good balance between accompanying (to ensure that goals are met) and letting go (so that each member of your team displays their talent).
- You have an analytical mindset. You guide your decisions by what the data says and not just intuition. You become obsessed with collecting data, making it available, and learning from it.
- When you have a problem or a new idea you are not afraid to try new tools and use technology to solve it. You have a “ doer ” mentality, being able to learn and use new technologies easily. If there is something that you are doing repeatedly, you seek to automate it.
- You identify with our culture. At Laboratoria we are a team of more than 100 people in different Latin American countries. Here we leave our letter of culture for you to read. The more you identify with these values, the more certain your success and happiness at Laboratoria will be.
